In that locked room in Delhi, bundles of currency notes were scattered in such abundance that even the experienced CBI officers were left stunned. When the cupboards were opened, there were more bundles of pink notes than clothes. The situation was such that the raiding team got tired of counting the money, but the treasure seemed endless. No one could have imagined that such a hideous face of corruption was hidden behind the uniform responsible for the country’s security. Rs 2.25 crore in cash, connections to Dubai, and both husband and wife being officers of Colonel rank – this is not just a case of bribery, but a betrayal of trust. When the protectors themselves become predators for the sake of crores of rupees, the very foundation of the entire system is shaken. This action by the CBI has intensified the turmoil in defense circles.

Dubai Connection and Bribery Command
This sensational incident began on December 19, 2025. The CBI received information that Lieutenant Colonel Deepak Kumar Sharma, Deputy Planning Officer in the Department of Defence Production of the Ministry of Defence, was part of a major conspiracy. Surprisingly, his wife, Colonel Kajal Bali, who is the Commanding Officer (CO) in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, is also named in the FIR. It is alleged that this entire bribery network was operating at the behest of a Dubai-based company.

Note Counting Machines Overheated
When the CBI team reached Deepak Sharma’s residence in Delhi, the scene was like something out of a movie. A total of Rs 2.23 crore in cash was recovered from various corners of the house. The machines brought to count the notes overheated, and the officers had to sweat for hours. Rs 10 lakh in cash and several suspicious documents have also been seized from Sri Ganganagar. This huge amount of money indicates that this operation had been going on for a long time.
