In the internal and external political landscape of the Indian National Congress, it has been clear for several elections that former party president Rahul Gandhi would be the face of the party for the Prime Ministerial post. Some opposition parties have also made this declaration on occasion. Meanwhile, Congress MP Imran Masood from the Saharanpur Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh made a significant statement while responding to a question from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Responding to the BJP’s accusation that Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra only speaks out on Gaza but ignores the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh, Congress MP Imran Masood said, “Let Priyanka Gandhi be made Prime Minister first, then see how she responds, like Indira Gandhi.”

When asked what Rahul Gandhi would do if Priyanka Gandhi became Prime Minister, the MP said, “Don’t look at them separately.” Imran Masood said that both of them are grandchildren of Indira Gandhi (former Prime Minister). “Rahul and Priyanka are not separate. They are like two eyes on a face. Don’t see them as separate.”
