Uttarakhand / Kotdwar : In Sigaddi-Jaidevpur, an elephant killed a man in the forest.
An elderly man, whose age is said to be around 74 years old, has died in an elephant attack in Sigaddi forest in Kotdwar range of Lansdowne Forest Division. After which the Kotdwar police is proceeding with the post mortem. DFO Deepak Singh said that 74 years old Shivdutt Joshi son Madhavanand Joshi, resident of Jaidevpur Sigaddi, along with his wife Leeladevi along with Sharda, Deepa Devi had gone to get fodder for their cattle in Sigaddi of Kotdwar range on Tuesday morning.
During this, the elephant attacked Shivdutt Joshi and seriously injured him. The elephant went away when the women made noise. The women reported the incident to the people of Jaidevpur Sigaddi, after getting the information, people reached the spot and the people informed the van department about the incident. On receiving the information, Deputy Ranger Azam Khan, Forest Inspector Dhani Ram, Himmat Singh Bharti reached the spot. Seriously injured Shivdutt Joshi was taken to the Government Base Hospital Kotdwar by the forest worker where the doctor declared him brought dead. The DFO said that the post-mortem of the dead body is being done.
