Sakkari knocks out champion Switek, Krejcikova in semi-finals
Greece’s Maria Sakkari put on a stellar performance to beat defending champion and eighth seed Iga wietek of Poland 6-4, 6-4 this time to reach the semi-finals of the second Grand Slam French Open of the year.
17th seed Sakkari will face unseeded Czech Republic’s Barbora Krejcikova in the semi-finals, who defeated 24th seed Coco Gauff of America 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 in another quarterfinal clash that lasted one hour and 50 minutes. Kar made it to the last four.
