CAIT is all set to fight Amazon and Flipkart

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said that Amazon, Walmart-owned Flipkart and several other foreign-funded e-commerce companies for more than five years are not only doing all kinds of unethical practices with the aim of controlling e-commerce. trade practices, but are also trying to capture India’s retail trade. The traders’ association said that their sinister designs have greatly spoiled the e-commerce landscape of the country.

In view of such situation, CAIT is going to start e-commerce purification week from Monday to June 21, which is getting huge support from thousands of trade unions across the country.

During the e-commerce purification campaign, business organizations from across the country will submit a memorandum to the district collectors of all the states of the country. On the other hand, the business delegation will meet the Chief Ministers and Finance Ministers of their respective states and urge them to set up a monitoring mechanism for e-commerce trade in the state to ensure strict implementation of FDI in the e-commerce policy of the government .
Simultaneously, the trade association will send an e-mail to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal urging the CCI to immediately initiate an investigation into the business modules of Amazon and Flipkart. CAIT has also announced the launch of a nationwide digital signature campaign on this issue.

CAIT said the e-commerce business in India has grown by 36 per cent in the last one year, especially in the personal care, beauty and wellness businesses. Grocery, FMCG products grew by 70 per cent and over 27 per cent. The e-commerce business in electronics in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities has grown from 32 per cent in 2019 to 46 per cent in 2020. On the other hand, the exponential growth of smart phone usage in India is contributing majorly to the expansion of the e-commerce business.

The body has alleged that the manner in which foreign companies such as Amazon and Flipkart have violated all laws of the country, restricting predatory pricing, deep discounting, loss funding and inventory and adopting preferential sellers, have affected small businesses in India. Heavy damage has been done.
CAIT (CAT) said that the capital dumping game of these so called markets has eroded the entrepreneurial skills and human capital of the country, which is a cognizable offence. It said that making the human capital of any country useless, displacing them from their businesses and encroaching on their livelihoods by these capitalists requires immediate attention of both the central and state governments.
The CAIT said that the country’s e-commerce business has become highly hectic and toxic due to illegal and unethical trade practices by other foreign funded e-commerce portals.
CAIT said, therefore, there is an urgent need to purify the e-commerce scenario of the country, so that even a small trader can accept e-commerce business as an additional opportunity to increase his revenue and become self-reliant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India can be made. Traders across the country are fully prepared to take any challenge in this account and have determined to make the e-commerce business free from all evils. More than 40 thousand trade organizations from across the country will join with full enthusiasm to make the purification campaign a success.
