Classes should be started from October 1, UGC issued instructions to all universities and colleges
The University Grants Commission has issued guidelines on examinations and academic calendar in view of COVID-19 to all universities and colleges. It has been said in the guidelines that the enrollment process for the first year courses of the academic session 2021-22 should be completed before 30 September and the academic session should be started from 1 October.
The UGC has said that in view of the order of the Supreme Court, new guidelines have been issued. It has been said in the guidelines that the guidelines issued earlier will be applicable for the 2020-21 session. Under this, the final year / terminal semester examinations will have to be compulsorily completed by 31 August 2021. The commission has said that under the COVID protocol, such examinations should be conducted in offline or online mode. Like the guidelines of 2020 for the middle semester or year, the UGC has also said in the new guidelines to give marks on the basis of internal assessment only. The Commission has also directed to fill the vacant seats by 31 October.
