Uttarakhand : Demand from CM to hand over Gurdwara Gyan Goddi Complex
Uttarakhand Sikh Co-ordination Committee met CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and demanded handing over of Gurdwara Gyan Goddi complex in Haridwar to the Sikh society. A memorandum was also handed over to the CM regarding the problems of the Sikh society. Committee President Gurdeep Singh Sahota said that a nine-point demand letter including Gurdwara Gyan Goddi was handed over to the CM. In this, not getting the benefit of the annual budget of four crore rupees of the state funded scheme Minority Development Fund, taking cognizance of the four hundred years of Prakash Parv of Guru Tegh Bahadur, allocating the entire fund of four hundred lakhs to the needy Sikh students residing in the state, Renaming the Minority Development Fund to Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Memorial Fund, resolving the pending issue of recognition of minority Sikh schools in Dehradun and Haridwar for 10-12 years, making Sant Kesar Singh Memorial Fund under DM Udham Singh Nagar a state-level plan for all BPL Sikhs. To give benefit to the families, settlement of land issue of Gurdwara Sant Sagar Boli Sahib Village Gandikhata Haridwar, posting of Sikh officer at the level of Deputy Director in Minority Welfare Directorate, formation of Sikh cell in BJP unit of the state, Punjabi in government schools Action has been demanded in the direction of recruitment of teachers. The CM gave due assurance to the delegation.
