Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Demonstration of police relatives on the demand of grade pay
Despite the appeal of the police officers in the matter of grade pay, the families of the policemen reached Gandhi Park in Doon to stage a sit-in. The members of the police family, who arrived in large numbers, have demanded from the government that the police personnel should be given 4600 grade pay. At the same time, the police family has blocked outside Gandhi Park. A large number of women are protesting standing on the road, due to which the one-way traffic has come to a complete standstill. The police force is trying to convince them, but the women are not ready to move. Along with this, the same political parties have also reached outside Gandhi Park. There is constant shouting. The women of the police family have submitted a memorandum to the SDM demanding that if their demand is not fulfilled by the 27th, they will sit on a dharna outside the secretariat along with the children. The entire responsibility will be of the government.
Ambulance stuck in jam: In view of the jam, the SDM has appealed to everyone to get off the roads, a memorandum given by the police family has been taken which will be forwarded to the competent authority. Several vehicles are stuck due to the jam and some ambulances are also stuck in the jam.
The women held placards in their hands and raised slogans of ‘Police family ki yehi pukar, our right at 4600 grade’. During this, a large amount of police force has been deployed after Gandhi Park. Due to the closure of the Gandhi Park gate, the family of the police personnel staged a sit-in protest by putting up a board at the gate itself.
However, the intelligence department of the police was getting information from Sunday that only a small number of families of policemen would take part in the sit-in demonstration. Despite the heavy rain, families of policemen in large numbers reached for a sit-in and started raising slogans. During this, many officers including SP City Sarita Dobal, CO City Shekhar Suyal, CO Sadar Anuj Kumar, Kotwal Ritesh Shah were present at the spot. At the same time, people of many political organizations were present to support the police family.
