Punjab : Sunil Jakhar may be the next Chief Minister of the state
Discussions about the new Chief Minister have intensified after the party high command demanded the resignation of CM Captain Amarinder Singh amid tussle in the Punjab Congress. According to the discussions, former Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar may be the next Chief Minister of the state. His name is at the forefront for the new Chief Minister. Meanwhile, Sunil Jakhar has welcomed the steps taken by the Congress High Command in Punjab by tweeting.
Let us inform that Navjot Sidhu was made the new president after Jakhar was removed from the post of Punjab Pradesh Congress chief. In a tweet, Sunil Jakhar praised Rahul Gandhi and praised him for resolving this very complicated issue. He said, “Surprisingly, this bold decision of Punjab Congress to resolve the dispute has not only thrilled the Congress workers, but also shrank the backbone of the Akalis.”
Actually Jakhar had gone to Bangalore two days ago. Suddenly calling him to Delhi and asking him to come to Chandigarh made it clear that he would have an important role in the next government. Before returning to Chandigarh, he also spoke to senior leaders of the Congress High Command in Delhi. Late in the night when Harish Rawat tweeted about convening the CLP meeting, since this morning, senior leaders gathered at Jakhar’s house. However, he has refused to reveal anything about it yet.
Jakhar was once considered one of the leaders close to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. When the party high command made him the chief of Punjab Congress, he often got into trouble with the Chief Minister regarding wrong decisions in the government. Jakhar has been raising his voice on such issues, be it the matter of canceling power agreements or taking a tough decision on the sacrilege issue.
Jakhar can also be given the post of CM as a Hindu face, because at present the headship of Congress is in the hands of Jat Sikh. The party will take full care of caste equations before the elections. These days, farmers are agitating across Punjab for three agricultural laws, even in such a situation, Jakhar’s role will be important because when the ordinances of three agricultural laws were issued, Sunil Jakhar was the first leader who opposed them. He is often considered a leader who raised the issues of agriculture. His father Balram Jakhar was a great farmer leader.
