I am very excited about my debut film ‘Squad’: Malavika Raj

Actress Malvika Raj, who played the childhood character of Kareena Kapoor in the film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, is now a grown-up. Malavika is now making her film debut with Nilesh Sahai’s ‘Squad’, in which she will be seen opposite Danny Denzongpa’s son Rinjing Denzongpa. Malavika has said some things about her first film, Bollywood and her favorite stars.

Malavika was asked that she was engrossed in her small role of ‘Pooja’ in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, why she had an idea that it would prove to be iconic? To this, she replied that she was a big fan of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ then and no one thinks so much at that age. She said that she was only very happy that she is going to work with big stars of Bollywood.

She told that she was very young at that time and got a chance to work with stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol and Shahrukh Khan and none of them ever made her feel less. Malavika said that the biggest thing she learned from these stars was that how you can stay connected to the ground even while flying at high altitude. His work experience with these stars was amazing and at the same time he had realized that this was going to be his career.

Producer-director Bobby Raj’s daughter Malavika is from a film background family and while talking about this, she told that because of this she definitely got exposure on the set at a young age. She told that she used to go to the sets of Papa’s films after closing school, she used to see all his actresses, her make-up, her dress and since then she was very much attached to the atmosphere of the film set. Malavika said, “When I got the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, I was very excited because I got my own make-up room. I was like in seventh heaven. I lived in this zone for 20 years.

How was the film ‘Squad’ offered to him? To this Malavika said, ‘I am very excited about my debut film. ‘Squad’ is going to release soon. Our director Nilesh Sahai saw my photo somewhere online and we have a common family friend, through which he called my father and told that he wanted to narrate the story of the film to me. When he narrated the story of the film to me, I liked it the very first time. I even auditioned for it and got the film.

Malvika told that she is a big fan of Karisma Kapoor. She grew up watching Karisma’s films with Salman and Govinda. She is a tremendous fan of his style and dance. After seeing Karishma’s film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, she went crazy for him.

Malavika likes Ranbir Kapoor a lot among Bollywood actors. She is crazy about his natural acting and wants to work with him so that he can see and understand how he does it all so beautifully.
