Chattisgarh : Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel along with his ministers met PM Modi

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel along with his cabinet will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apprise him about the problems of farmers and mill workers of the state. Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain has written a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office urging to fix the day and time for the cabinet meeting with the PM. CS has written in the letter sent to the PMO that the CM and all the members of the Council of Ministers want to meet the PM and discuss the issues related to paddy procurement, gunny crisis and farmers.
Chief Secretary Jain has written in the letter that under the MoU signed with Chhattisgarh and Central Government under the procurement scheme, paddy is procured from farmers at support price in Kharif season. According to the instructions received from the Central Government in the current Kharif season 2021-22, instructions have been received to procure 100% Arva rice (61.65 lakh metric tonnes) under the central pool in Chhattisgarh, whereas in the last years that rice has also been taken from the state. .
Labor crisis
The Chief Secretary has said that the operation of 416 Usna mills established in the state and the employment of laborers working in them will be affected as per the directions of the Food Ministry. At the same time, such a paddy produced by the farmers from which only that rice can be made, there will be difficulty in its disposal. Adequate supply of gunny bags from the Jute Commissioner is also not being done in time for the procurement of paddy. In view of all these things, the CM and all the ministers want to meet Prime Minister Narendra and consult on matters related to paddy procurement.
Chief Minister himself has sent two letters
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has written a letter to the PM regarding the crisis of gunny bags during the procurement of paddy starting from December 1 on support price in Chhattisgarh. In his letter, CM has mentioned about the creation of law and order situation during the procurement for not providing jute gunny bags in sufficient quantity. He has said that 5.25 lakh bales are required, but Chhattisgarh has got only 87 bales. On the other hand, on Wednesday, a letter has been written to give compensation of four lakh rupees to the dead people from Corona.
