Madhya Pradesh / Anuppur : 17-year-old girl raped after being fed aphrodisiac capsule, dies due to excessive bleeding

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly fed aphrodisiac capsules and then raped by a man in Madhya Pradesh’s Anuppur district, leading to her death due to excessive bleeding. A senior official has given this information on Sunday. He said that the incident took place on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday in a village under Rajendragram police station, about 28 km from Anuppur district headquarters.
An aphrodisiac is a substance that increases sexual desire. Additional Director General of Police (ADG) of Shahdol Zone DC Sagar said that this is a very sad incident. “Police is trying its best to nab the accused and a reward of Rs 30,000 has been announced on his head,” Sagar told reporters here. He said the accused has been identified as Yashwant Maravi. who is absconding.
Rajendragram police station in-charge Narendra Pal said that the police had received information about the death of a 17-year-old girl on Saturday, after which a case was registered. He said the investigation and short postmortem report revealed that the girl was raped and died due to excessive bleeding from her genitals. “The accused, aged around 20-22 years, had given the girl some aphrodisiac capsules before raping her,” Pal said.
He said the victim felt severe pain when she returned to her home on Saturday morning and narrated the ordeal to a female member of her family before she died. Pal said that a case has been registered against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act as well as sections 376 (rape), 363, 366 and 304 of the Indian Penal Code. Meanwhile, agitated villagers protested on Sunday by placing the girl’s body at Rajendragram police station, accusing the police of negligence in apprehending the accused.
