Uttar Pradesh / Moradabad : BJP awarded tickets to 13 out of 14 MLAs of Mandal, changed candidates on ten seats

For the Moradabad assembly elections, BJP has announced candidates for 25 out of 27 seats in Moradabad. The party has not yet announced the candidate from Thakurdwara in Moradabad and Swar seat of Rampur. The party has given tickets to 13 out of 14 MLAs. Candidates have been changed in ten seats. Out of the sitting MLAs, only former MP Devendra Nagpal has been made the candidate after cutting the ticket of Naugaona Sadat MLA Sangeeta Chauhan.

Voting is to be held on February 14 in the second phase of the assembly seats of Moradabad division. In the last assembly elections, the BJP had won 15 out of 27 seats in the Mandal. However, the BJP lost one seat in the later by-elections. At present, there are BJP MLAs on 14 seats in the Mandal. The party has again given ticket to 13 MLAs out of 14, only Sangeeta Chauhan’s ticket has been cut from Naugaon Sadat. The ten seats where new faces have been fielded include three in Bijnor, three in Moradabad, two in Sambhal, one in Amroha and one in Rampur.

Sushant had also won the last election from this seat
The challenge before the party is to repeat its 2017 performance. Therefore, keeping all the equations in mind, BJP has announced the candidates. This time many new faces have also been given a chance. BJP has not yet announced the candidate from Thakurdwara seat of Moradabad. Former MP Kunwar Sarvesh Singh and BJP’s district president Rajpal Singh Chauhan are contenders for the ticket from this seat. However, BJP has given ticket to Sushant Singh, son of Sarvesh Singh, from Badhapur seat in Bijnor district. Sushant had also won the last election from this seat.

Not yet announced candidate from Swar seat of Rampur
In view of the strong claims of Sarvesh Singh and Rajpal Singh Chauhan, the BJP has not yet taken any decision regarding the candidate for this seat. Rajpal Singh Chauhan had contested the last assembly elections from Thakurdwara, in which he had to face defeat. At the same time, Sarvesh Singh has represented this seat many times. The party has not yet announced the candidate from Swar seat of Rampur. The BJP has not won this seat in the last several elections. Azam Khan’s son Abdullah Azam was elected from this seat in the last election.

Strong candidate can be fielded
Later, in the dispute of age, his legislature was canceled by the High Court. Abdullah is currently in Sitapur jail and is likely to come out on bail soon. It is expected that Abdullah will be the SP candidate from this seat this time. In such a situation, BJP is currently following the policy of wait and watch regarding this seat. Political experts say that BJP can leave this seat for a coalition party, from where a strong candidate can be fielded.

For what reason candidates got tickets

Moradabad City: BJP has reposed faith in Ritesh Gupta from Moradabad city seat. Gupta has contested from this seat twice and is the sitting MLA. Apart from this, he has a strong hold in the organization.

Kanth: On this BJP has again given ticket to Rajesh Kumar Chunnu. Chunnu is currently an MLA. They remain active in the field, apart from this they have a strong hold in the organization.

Moradabad Dehat: KK Mishra has been given ticket from this seat. Mishra is an old BJP worker. Their social circle is quite wide. He was also active in the field for the last five years.

Kundarki: Kamal Prajapati has been made a candidate for this seat. Prajapati is the district general secretary of the organization. He has been given ticket because of his hold in the Sangh and the organization.

Bilari: Parmeshwar Lal has been made a candidate for this seat. Saini has been an MLC and is currently a member of the BJP State Executive.

Bilaspur: In this seat, BJP has given ticket to Baldev Singh Aulakh. Aulakh is the Sikh face of BJP. He had won the last election and is currently the Minister of State for Jalshakti in the state.

Milak: Rajbal has been re-nominated. The reason is that he is currently an MLA. No one else was found to have a stronger claim than him. He has a strong hold in the organization.

Chamraua: Mohan Lodhi has been given ticket again. Lodhi was a candidate from this seat in the last elections as well. If there is no other strong contender than him, the party has bet on him.

Naugaona Sadat: Sangeeta Chauhan’s ticket was cut due to the strong claim of Nagpal in Naugaona Sadat seat. Nagpal got the ticket because he is a former MP. He has a strong hold in the field and organization.

Hasanpur: Mahendra Singh Kharagvanshi has got the ticket again because he is currently an MLA. He has been active in the field during the last five years. There was no other stronger contender than him.

Dhanaura: Rajiv Tarara is the present MLA from this seat. Raising the problems of the area for five years. Good hold in the organization.

Amroh: In this seat, BJP has bet on Ram Singh Saini. Ram Singh Saini is active in the area for the last five years and his claim was stronger than many other candidates.

Chandausi: BJP has again made Gulab Devi its candidate for this seat. Gulab Devi is presently an MLA from this seat and is also a minister of state in the state government. The party had no other option than him.

Gunnaur: BJP has fielded Ajit Kumar Raju from this seat. Raju is the present MLA from this seat. He has represented this seat many times.

Sambhal: BJP has changed its candidate in Sambhal seat. Here Rajesh Singhal has been made the candidate instead of Dr. Hari Om Gupta. Due to his strong hold in the organization, he has been awarded the ticket.

Asmauli: The BJP has given preference to Chaudhary Harendra Singh Rinku over Chaudhary Narendra Singh in Asmauli. Being young, Rinku’s activism is high. Because of this the party has reposed faith in him.
