In this ceremony, PM Modi said that on the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the brave son of Mother India, I bow down on behalf of the whole country. This day is historical, this period is also historical and this place where we are all integrated is also historical. The PM said that Netaji had assured us of an independent and sovereign India. With confidence and courage, he said in front of the British that I will not beg for freedom, I will get it.
PM Modi lashed out at Congress
During his address, PM Modi targeted the Congress fiercely. He said that the country is rectifying its past mistakes and no one can stop it from doing so. Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav resolves that India will revive its identity and inspirations. It was unfortunate that after independence, along with the culture and rites of the country, work was done to erase the contribution of many great personalities.
The PM said that this statue is a tribute to a grateful nation to the great hero of freedom. This statue of Netaji Subhash will give a sense of national duty to our democratic institutions to our generations. Will continue to inspire the coming and present generation. The PM said that last year the country started celebrating Netaji’s birth anniversary as Parakram Diwas. Today, Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Awards have also been given on this occasion. Taking inspiration from Netaji’s life, it was announced to give these awards.
Emphasis on Relief, Rescue and Rehabilitation
The Prime Minister said that apart from emphasizing on Relief, Rescue and Rehabilitation, we have also stressed on Reform. We strengthened NDRF, modernized it, expanded it across the country. From technology to planning and management, best possible practices have been adopted.
The PM said that earlier hundreds of people used to die in each cyclone, but this did not happen in the cyclone that came in the past. The country answered every challenge with a new force. In these disasters, we were able to save as many lives as possible. We have seen a lot of Joint Military Exercise in different countries of the world, among armies. But for the first time India has started the tradition of Joint Drill for Disaster Management.
