Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi strongly condemned the sacrilege attempt, saying that some anti-social elements are trying to disturb the peace and harmony of the state. Chief Minister Channi also urged people to maintain peace. Several state leaders also condemned the attempted sacrilege. Apart from this, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also condemned the incident by tweeting.

Kejriwal said, “Conspiracies are continuing to spoil the atmosphere of Punjab. The attempt of sacrilege in Shri Kali Mata Mandir of Patiala is highly condemnable. The accused should be given strict punishment. A few days ago there was an attempt to sacrilege Harmandir Sahib. The face of the conspirators behind the incidents of sacrilege should be exposed and punished severely.
This is the third incident of sacrilege in the state in the last few days. Earlier there was an attempt at sacrilege at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. After which the angry mob thrashed the accused person to death in the temple premises itself. A few days later, another attempt was made for sacrilege.
