The tricolor became a shield for the protection of Indians in Ukraine, Russia’s promise – the vehicles on which the tricolor will be, will not harm them

The Indian government has advised Indian students stranded in Ukraine to travel with the national flag ‘Tricolor’ on their vehicles. In this regard, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, while talking to news agency ANI on Saturday, said, “The government has asked the students to carry the Indian flag with them as Russia has pledged not to take any action against Indian students.” Reddy further said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to the ministers and heads of countries around Ukraine. So Indians reach Ukraine border to go to other country, Indian government has ensured that they get permission to enter without any problem. For those who are reaching Romania from the border of Ukraine, the Indian government had taken measures to bring students from there free of cost.
Reddy further added, “We have asked students traveling in bikes, cars and buses to prominently display the Indian flag on the vehicles. Those who have not been able to take pictures of the flag have been sent flags through social media. Russia has promised that it will not take any action against Indian students. That’s why we have asked them to reach the Ukrainian border with Indian flags.”
Significantly, the first evacuation flight from Ukraine carrying Indian passengers has reached Mumbai. There were 219 passengers on this flight. The plane took off from Bucharest, the capital of Romania, this afternoon. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar had reached to pick up these passengers. In the meantime, a second evacuation flight (AI1942) is expected to return to Delhi early Sunday with another 250 Indian nationals on board, officials mentioned.
