Asani turned into a severe ‘cyclonic storm’, rain expected in these states for the next 4 days, three states on alert

Cyclone ‘Asani’ in the Bay of Bengal is moving north-westwards close to the Andhra-Odisha coast. It is very likely to turn northeastwards and move north-west Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast on Tuesday when it reaches west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal. Before that, due to the cyclone, there has been heavy rain in many areas including Kolkata. Due to this, the situation of water logging was seen at many places in Kolkata.

In its forecast regarding the weather, IMD has expressed the possibility of rain on May 09 in North Madhya Maharashtra. On the other hand, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in West Madhya Pradesh from May 9 to 12 and in South Haryana, Delhi and South Punjab from May 10 to 12.

Light to moderate rain is very likely at isolated places over Coastal Odisha and adjoining areas of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh from 10th evening. Light to moderate rain is expected at some places over Coastal Odisha, North Andhra Pradesh and Coastal West Bengal on May 11.
