Uttarakhand: Visva Bharati Central University will be built by spending 150 crores in 45 acres – Pushkar Singh Dhami

The name of Nainital Ramgarh has been associated with a big achievement. Now Visva Bharati University is going to be established in Rabindranath Tagore’s work place. The CM of Uttarakhand has done it on Sunday. This program was organized on the occasion of the 161st birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore, the author of the national anthem. During this program organized at Rabindra Nath Tagore’s Karmasthali in Ramgarh, the CM said that the campus to be built here will be known as Gitanjali and this area will do pioneering work for education. During this, CM Dhami said that the coming decade belongs to Uttarakhand. There will be better work from tourism to education, health and people will come to the mountains.
Chief Minister Dhami said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his interest in setting up the campus of Rabindranath Tagore University at Ramgarh. It is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand and with this gift, where Visva Bharati Central University, Uttarakhand will get an opportunity to be established as a major education center of India, new opportunities for self-employment will be available for the local youth. It will also become a new destination for national and international tourists and researchers.
Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861 in Jorasanku Thakurbari, Kolkata. Tagore, who received the Nobel Prize for Literature, visited Ramgarh thrice from 1903 to 1913 and made his home here. Here he has composed some excerpts of Gitanjali and also wrote the national anthems of three countries, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. However, the Central Government had announced Vishwa Bharati Vishwavidyalaya in Ramgarh, after which 45 acres of land has also been made available for this.
During the program, the CM said that in the first phase, DPR of Rs 150 crore is in the process of approval in the Central Government for the establishment of Visva Bharati. The formalities for the establishment of the Visva Bharati Central University campus in 45 acres of land were completed by the Government of Uttarakhand.
