Record of Chardham Yatra broken in 13-day journey, 5.14 lakh pilgrims reached all four Dhams till May 15

Chardham Yatra, which has been affected by the Corona epidemic for two years, is in full swing this time from the beginning. The situation is that in the initial days of the Yatra, all the records of the previous years were destroyed. Till May 15, five lakh 14 thousand 129 devotees have visited the four dhams. Of these, maximum 186668 devotees reached Kedarnath. Whereas, 136972 devotees visited Badrinath, 103429 in Gangotri and 87060 in Yamunotri.
On May 3 this year, the Chardham Yatra started with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. Whereas, on May 6, the doors of Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham were opened on May 8. That is, eight doors of Badrinath Dham opened, ten of Kedarnath and Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham opened for only 13 days and during this period most devotees have reached the darshan in the history of Chardham Yatra. If the weather continues to support like this, then the journey can set new records in the coming days.
After the disaster of the year 2013, the Chardham Yatra could not gain momentum in 2014 and 15. But, from the year 2016 to the year 2019, the number of devotees reaching Chardham continued to increase. In the year 2020, due to Corona epidemic, the journey came to a complete halt. Whereas, in the year 2021, after the effect of Corona subsided, the last two months of travel could be done only in September-October. However, even during this period, the number of devotees remained very less due to the Kovid guidelines and restrictions.
