In the jail, Sidhu will get a wardrobe, a blanket, a bed, three underwear and vest, two towels, a mosquito net, a copy pen, a pair of shoes, two bedsheets, four kurtas, pajamas and two headgear covers.
The Supreme Court has sentenced Sidhu to one year in the 34-year-old road rage case. Sidhu’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi had also approached the Supreme Court with the hope of relief, but he did not get relief from there.
Sidhu’s media advisor Surinder Dalla said, Navjot Singh Sidhu has surrendered before the Chief Judicial Magistrate. He is in judicial custody. Now medical examination and other legal procedures will be adopted.
Abhishek Manu Singhvi mentioned the case of Navjot Singh Sidhu before the bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar in the Supreme Court. Abhishek Manu Singhvi requested for some time to surrender, citing Sidhu’s ill health. Justice Khanwilkar said on this that this matter pertains to a special bench. In this matter, file an application before the Chief Justice and demand a hearing.
Navjot Singh Sidhu’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi did not mention the matter in the Chief Justice’s court. Earlier, Chief Justice NV Ramana had made it clear at the time of urgent mentioning that no fresh matter would be heard except the cases which are not listed in the urgent mentioning list.
Sidhu will file a petition

After today 51 days summer vacation
The summer vacations are starting in the Supreme Court today i.e. after May 20. After today there will be 51 days of summer holidays. During this period only urgent matters will be heard.
