Heavy rain expected in these states, IMD issued alert

The sky remained cloudy in Delhi and NCR on Thursday. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain may occur in some parts of the capital. The Southwest Monsoon has reached Kerala, Tamil Nadu and many parts of Karnataka. However, the first monsoon rains in North India will come by the end of June. IMD has predicted light rain in Delhi today. Also, the maximum temperature is predicted to be around 42 degree Celsius.
There will be heavy rain in West Bengal
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal in the next 4 days. The conditions have become favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into the region till Friday, he said. IMD has forecast rain and thundershower activities in Gangetic West Bengal for a few days.

Forecast of Northeast States
The IMD said, ‘There is a possibility of heavy rain in Sikkim and Northeast states in the next four days. Rain will be recorded in many parts of Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
Isolated/scattered rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds very likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal next 5 days.

Rain forecast in these districts of Odisha
According to the Meteorological Department, many districts of Odisha including Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Kalahandi will receive thunderstorms. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Himachal Pradesh.

Heat wave likely in these states
According to the IMD, there is a possibility of heat wave conditions in Rajasthan till June 3, South Punjab, South Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh till June 4 and Vidarbha till June 5.
