Uttarakhand / Haldwani : Two smugglers arrested with smack of 15 lakhs, drug dealers arrested in Pauri too
TP Nagar Police and SOG team have caught a big case of smack smuggling. While arresting two smack smugglers, the police have recovered 149 grams of smack from their possession. The value of the recovered smack is being told around ₹ 15 lakh. At the same time, Pauri police has also arrested two youths with smack.
SSP Pankaj Bhatt said that on the information of the informer by the team of TP Nagar police post and SOG Nainital late on Monday night, two youths were seen going on a bike towards the forest near the Open University. During this, the police team has arrested two youths riding bikes. 149 grams of smack has been recovered from the possession of the accused. During interrogation, both the accused told that their names are Raju Maurya and Rohtash Kashyap, who are originally residents of Uttar Pradesh Rampur Milak.
Presently Laldant lives in Mukhani with his parents on rent. The parents work as sharecroppers in the farm. During interrogation, the accused told that after buying a consignment of smack from Rampur from a person named Tahir and supplying it to Haldwani. The accused told that he used to give smack to the people according to the demand. Apart from this, they also supply smack to school students.
The SSP said that the criminal history of the accused is being investigated. Action has been taken against the accused by registering a case under the NDPS Act and sending them to jail. A bike has also been recovered from the accused, from which they used to supply smack. The price of Smack is being told around 15 lakhs.
Two smugglers arrested with smack in Pauri: Pauri police has arrested two youths with 25.2 grams of smack. Both the youths are residents of Srinagar. Police recovered smack from youths during regular checking. Giving information, SSP Yashwant Singh Chauhan said that the drug trade is booming in the Srinagar area. For which the police is also running a continuous checking campaign. He told that the police have recovered 25.2 grams of smack from two youths during regular checking. He said that information is being collected from where the smack came to the youth. SSP said that the residents of Srinagar, Devshali Dobriyal and Amit Singh Patwal were arrested from Kedar Mohalla Marg, near Khalikhet.
