Petrol pumps may be closed in many states, know why there was a situation of lockdown?

There is a decrease in the supply of petrol and diesel in many states including Madhya Pradesh. Companies are telling about reducing the oil supply by 50 percent in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, the oil crisis is increasing continuously from other states of the country as well. According to the report of Dainik Bhaskar, for the first time this situation has happened in Rajasthan that 3 thousand pumps are on the verge of drying up. If there is no supply in 24 hours then 500 pumps will stop.

At the same time, the crisis of diesel and petrol continues at the pumps in Himachal Pradesh. Vehicle owners and consumers in the state are not getting petrol and diesel as per their requirement. Large consumers, especially contractors, who buy oil in bulk, are getting only 10 to 15 liters of oil. This situation remains in the capital Shimla. Apart from this, in many states including Haryana and Punjab, oil companies are not supplying petrol and diesel in proportion to the demand. Supply has not been affected in Bihar yet, but companies are providing oil only on payment of cash.

What is the main reason
According to media reports, on May 21 last month, the Central Government had reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel to give relief to the people, due to which the pace of rising oil prices had stopped and due to some reduction in the prices, the people. There was immediate relief, but since then, according to the companies, there is a loss in supplying petrol and diesel. Due to this substantial supply is getting affected.
