The economic condition of the country is very bad: Arvind Kejriwal
Alleging that the Aam Aadmi Party’s convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is trying to stop the free schemes, questions are being raised as to whether the economic condition of the central government not right? He asked where did all the money of the central government go? Then answering it himself, he alleged that the central government waived off the loans of his friends and billionaires worth Rs 10 lakh crore. He also claimed that Rs 5 lakh crore tax has also been waived off.
Arvind Kejriwal said, “For the last few days, the way the public is being opposed to the facilities available for free. It is being said that the governments will become poor, disaster will arise for the country. These features should be turned off. This raises doubts in the mind whether the economic condition of the central government has become very bad. Why is there so much protest? For 70-75 years, children are being given free education, treatment in government hospitals and ration to the poor. Why all of a sudden they are being opposed so much?
Agniveer because he could not afford pension: Kejriwal
Describing the Agniveer scheme as the reason for this doubt, Arvind Kejriwal said, “A few days ago, they came up with the Agniveer scheme. It was said that this was needed because the government was not able to bear the expenses of pension of soldiers. For the first time any government is saying that it cannot afford the pension of soldiers. Till date no government had said that we are not able to give pension. What has happened, the central government is not even in a position to give pension to the soldiers.
‘No 8th Pay Commission, MNREGA money is less’
The Chief Minister of Delhi said, “Every five-five years (later reformed 10-10 years) the central government makes a pay commission for the central employees. The Eighth Pay Commission was yet to be formed. Now the central government has said that We will not make because we do not have money. The central government has no money left to increase the salaries of its employees. Where has the central government’s money gone? What has become so bad for the central government that pay commissions are not being set up? “
Significantly, the first pay commission in the country was made in the year 1946, second in 1957, third in 1970, fourth in 1983, fifth in 1994 and sixth in 2006. The Seventh Pay Commission was constituted on February 4, 2014, just before the general elections and its recommendations were approved on June 29, 2016. On an average, the Pay Commission has been constituted at an interval of ten years.
He said that MNREGA, the government gives 100 days of work and money to the poorest of the poor of the country. The central government is saying that we do not even have that money. This year there has been a cut of 25 percent. The central government pays a part of the tax to the states. Till now 42 per cent had to be paid. This has now been reduced to 29 per cent. Where has all the money of the central government gone? Where is all this money going?
10 lakh crore loan and 5 lakh crore tax waived: Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal also accused the central government of waiving off Rs 10 lakh crore loans of the rich and Rs 5 lakh crore tax. He said, “In 2014, the central government used to have a budget of 20 lakh crores, today there is a budget of 40 lakh crores, so where did all the money of the central government go? He waived off the loans of his friends, billionaires worth Rs 10 lakh crore. The loans he waived with government money, many of them are his friends. Some have forgiven 5 thousand crores and some 10 thousand crores. If these loans were not waived, then there would be no need to levy tax on food items. Today they do not have the need to stop pension. This is not the condition of the country. He imposed taxes worth Rs 5 lakh crore of big companies. Taxed the poor man, waived off the tax of 5 lakh crores of big rich people in a few years. The common man of this country is feeling cheated today.
