‘Rajasthan Royals owner slapped me’, big allegation of Kiwi player Ross Taylor

Former New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor has made a shocking disclosure in his auto biography ‘Black and White’. Taylor has told in this book that he was slapped by a team owner when he was dismissed for zero on one occasion while playing for IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR). He wrote that the slaps were not loud, but he was not sure that it could happen.

Incident happened during the match against Punjab

Taylor wrote in his autobiography, ‘The Rajasthan team was chasing a target of 195 runs against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. I was out lbw on the score of zero and we did not reach the target. Later the team, support staff and management were at the bar on the top floor of the hotel. Liz Hurley was also present there with Warne.

I couldn’t have imagined: Taylor

Then one of the Honors of the Royals said to me, ‘Ross, we didn’t give you a million dollars to get out for a duck, after which he slapped me in the face 3-4 times. He was laughing and they weren’t loud slaps, but I wasn’t sure it was purely play-act. Under the circumstances, I didn’t want to make an issue out of it, but I couldn’t imagine it happening in many professional sports environments.

Such was Taylor’s IPL career

Ross Taylor played for Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2008 to 2010 and then joined the Rajasthan Royals team in 2011. He also represented Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warriors India. Ross Taylor played a total of 55 matches in his IPL career, in which he has scored 1017 runs with the help of 3 half-centuries. Taylor’s best score in IPL is 81 not out.
