Uttarakhand / Ramnagar : Leopard pounced on a young man riding a bicycle

On Thursday, a leopard pounced on a cyclist in Poochri of Ramnagar range of Terai Western Forest Division. Fortunately, the cyclist has got leopard nails on his feet. At the same time, the forest personnel have put a cage on the spot to catch the leopard.
Ramnagar Ranger Devendra Singh Rajwar told that 41-year-old Khayali Ram, resident of village Jogipura, works as a laborer in Ramnagar. On Thursday night, after finishing his work, the young man was going home by bicycle. The leopard suddenly attacked from the bushes near Jogipura. On raising the noise of Khyali Ram, people chased the leopard into the forest and the injured were treated in a government hospital.
Kundan Kumar, DFO of Terai Western Forest Division said that a cage has been set up in Jogipura area to catch the leopard. Forest personnel are continuously patrolling. He has appealed to the people not to go near the spot.
