The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has said in its statement that the ministry has not given any direction to keep Rohingya illegal migrants in EWS flats in Bakkarwala, New Delhi. It was told that the Delhi government had proposed that the Rohingyas should be shifted to the new location. On this, the MHA asked the Delhi government to ensure that the Rohingyas are kept in the existing location Kanchan Kunj (Madanpur Khadar). With respect to news reports in certain sections of media regarding Rohingya illegal foreigners, it is clarified that Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has not given any directions to provide EWS flats to Rohingya illegal migrants at Bakkarwala in New Delhi.

The MHA said that the issue of keeping the Rohingyas in the present place has been said because the government is in talks with the concerned countries for the deportation of illegal foreigners through the Ministry of External Affairs. Then they have to be sent back as well.
