Before the arrival of cheetahs to India, a new screw reached the court to return the land, the Palpur royal family

At present, the Kuno Sanctuary of Chambal is in discussions across the country because on Saturday, the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, on the occasion of his birthday, will leave the cheetahs from Namibia and arrive to launch the Cheetah Project scheme. But before that, after 75 years, a new twist has come in the return of cheetahs to India. In Sheopur, a petition for contempt of the order of the Gwalior High Court has been filed in the Vijaypur Additional Sessions Court of Sheopur district on behalf of the Palpur royal family. In which the Palpur royalty has demanded to return the possession of the fort and land of the royal family acquired by the administration inside the Kuno National Park. The next hearing on this petition will be held on September 19 in Vijaypur ADJ Court.

Shri Gopal Dev Singh, a descendant of the princely state of Palpur, has claimed that he had given his fort and land to the Kuno Palpur Sanctuary, built as the second safe home of Babbar lions in the Kuno Palpur sanctuary of Sheopur. But now work is being done to save cheetahs instead of lions in Kuno Palpur Sanctuary. When Kuno was declared a sanctuary to bring the Gir lions of Gujarat, he had to vacate his fort and 260 bighas of land. On the other hand, Kunwar Gopal Dev alleged that the government had also changed the name of Kuno Palpur Century to Kuno National Park, so now the descendants of Palpur royal family have approached the court against the state government to get back their ancestral property.

The royal family has also filed a petition in the Gwalior High Court

Shri Gopal Dev Singh, a descendant of the family that ruled Kuno-Palpur, told that he has filed a petition in the sessions court to take back the property. In fact, the descendants of Palpur princely state Shivraj Kunwar, Pushpraj Singh, Krishnaraj Singh, Vikramraj Singh, Chandraprabha Singh, Vijayakumari etc. filed a petition (No. 4906/10) in Gwalior High Court in the year 2010 against the acquisition of land for Kuno Sanctuary in Gwalior High Court. Was.

Hearing will be held on September 19

The High Court, while expressing satisfaction on the facts given in the petition, said that this matter is of the Sessions Court, the High Court does not directly hear such cases. That is why in the year 2013, the court had directed to take the matter to Vijaypur Seshan Court through Sheopur Collector. But since 2013, the collector posted in Sheopur kept postponing the matter. The descendants of the princely state of Palpur started the proceedings of contempt of High Court against the Sheopur Collector in the year 2019, when the then Sheopur Collector hurriedly sent the case to the Vijaypur Sessions Court. The princely state of Palpur alleges that the collector presented the case with wrong information. Against the contempt of the order of the High Court, the Palpur royal family has filed a petition in the Vijaypur Court. The next date of the first hearing of which is on September 19, two days after the arrival of the leopard in Kuno.

The objections raised in the petition are-
For the Singh project, the notification of land acquisition is issued in 1981, the award of the property acquired has to be issued within 2 years of the notification, but the district administration issued this award after almost 30 years, so the acquisition process is not as per the rules.
220 bighas of irrigated fertile land was acquired in Kuno Palpur Century, in return for which 27 bighas which is also accumulated rough rocky land.
There is no mention in the acquisition of the historical fort of Dholpur princely state among 220 bighas of land, nor any compensation received, yet the government is using these properties.
