Uttarakhand CM Dhami laid the foundation stone for the motor bridge connecting India-Nepal, 110 meters long bridge to be built on Kali river

The Chief Minister of the state, Pushkar Singh Dhami, laid the foundation stone of the first motor bridge of Pithoragarh connecting India-Nepal. The approved 110 meter bridge will be built on the Kali river between India and Nepal. With the construction of this bridge, while the mutual relations between India and Nepal will be further strengthened, it will also encourage commercial activities between India and Nepal in the area bordering China. During the foundation stone laying of the bridge, Uttarakhand CM Dhami said that due to the construction of a bridge between India and Nepal at Charchhum, the movement between the two countries will be smooth and easy. Apart from this, employment will also increase. At the same time, this bridge will prove to be important in enhancing the relations of friendship between the two countries. The government has approved the bridge this year.

The length of the bridge is 110 meters, cost 32 crores

The length of the bridge will be 110 meters. The bridge is to be constructed with an amount of Rs 32 crore. A target has been set to complete the construction of the bridge within 1 year. This will be a historic bridge.

This motor bridge will connect Pithoragarh to India-Nepal

It is noteworthy that this motorway connecting India-Nepal was to be built in Jhulaghat, India. But due to the proposed Pancheshwar dam, Jhulaghat was coming in the submergence area. After which the government and the local administration of both the countries selected the land to build a bridge at Charchum between Baluwakot and Dharchula along the Tawaghat Highway. Where the bridge is going to be built with the consent of both the countries. The Public Works Department was given the responsibility of building the bridge. This bridge will be the first bridge of Pithoragarh district to connect India and Nepal.
