In Bahraich district, not giving donations became costly to a young man. The matter is of Kotwali Nagar area. It is alleged that for Durga Puja in Navratri, a person associated with Durga Puja Committee had gone to the shop of a cloth merchant to ask for donations. At that time the merchant’s son was present at the shop, who, according to the youth who asked for donation, refused to give the amount of donation. Angered by this, the accused youth attacked the businessman’s son (Hrithik) with a knife and injured him. The businessman, who reached the spot on the information of the incident, rushed his son to the hospital. At the same time, as soon as the matter came to light, the police team visited the spot and registered a case against the accused under serious sections and arrested him and sent him to jail.
The youth was asking for donation of Rs 2100
The matter is of Choti Bazar area of Kotwali Nagar. Gyan Chand Manasani runs a sari and suit showroom here. Gyanchand says that his son Hrithik was stabbed by a person associated with Durga Puja committee because he was giving less than the amount demanded for Durga Puja. According to the victim businessman Gyanchand, the accused wanted Rs 2100 from him but he was giving him Rs 51. The incident was carried out because of this matter.
Police took immediate action
On this matter, CO City Vinay Dwivedi said that “On information, the police reached the spot. The case was registered after taking Tahrir. The accused has been arrested and sent to jail.” Actually this matter is related to coercion rather than faith. People often get compelled instead of respecting personal beliefs, it is very important to take strict action against such people.
