Supreme Court defers hearing on plea to cancel 12th exam, said- stay positive, decision will be taken by Monday

The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on the petition to cancel the board examination till Monday. Justice Maheshwari said that the government can take a decision on the examinations by June 1. The court said that be optimistic, maybe by Monday there is a proposal in your favor. We will hear the matter on Monday. Earlier, 300 students had written letters to Chief Justice NV Ramanna of the Supreme Court and demanded that the examinations be stopped. Regarding the cancellation of the examination, the students wrote in their letter that in the midst of the corona epidemic, the decision of CBSE to conduct offline examinations should be stopped. At the same time, the students also demanded from the Chief Justice that they instruct the Central Government in this regard that alternative assessment scheme should be made available.

The Central Board of Secondary Education may take a decision regarding the 12th board examination soon. On Sunday, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Smriti Irani and Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar had a big meeting with the state education minister and education secretaries on this issue.
After this meeting, many states have sent their opinion to the government. Many state boards are in favor of conducting the examination. However, many have advocated for the students to be vaccinated before the examinations.

Students are constantly demanding cancellation of the exam on social media. At the same time, CBSE is not in favor of canceling the exam. The Central Board of Secondary Education argues that the 12th board is an important milestone for students. Higher education avenues open to students from here. In such a situation, the board is not ready to give direct results to the students under any alternative arrangement.
