Another big shock to Sushil Kumar, now close friends will become official witnesses

Sagar murder case : The main accused in the wrestler Sagar Dhankhar murder case and two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar has suffered another setback. Prince, a close friend of Sushil Kumar, has agreed to become a government witness. Prince Sagar was also present during the brawl at Chhatrasal Stadium. Police said wrestler Sushil Kumar and Ajay, Prince, Sonu, Sagar Rana, Amit and others were beaten in the parking area of Chhatrasal Stadium on the night of May 4. Sushil had also asked Prince to make a video of the assault, which was later recovered by the police.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police on Friday arrested an absconder and an accomplice of Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar in connection with the alleged murder of 23-year-old Sagar Rana, a wrestler at the Chhatrasal Stadium. The arrested accused have been identified as Vijender alias Binder, who is also a wrestler. He has admitted that he was among those who beat Sagar Rana. So far 9 people including Sushil Kumar have been arrested in this murder case.

This is the second arrest made in this case today. Earlier, Delhi Police had also been successful in arresting one of the accused Rohit Kakor on Friday morning. Police said Kakor was present at the Chhatrasal Stadium at the time of the incident. Earlier, the police had issued a non-bailable warrant against Sushil Kumar’s associates Rohit Kakor and Virender Binder.

A total of nine people, including wrestler Sushil Kumar, have been arrested so far in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Sagar Rana. The 9 accused include Sushil Kumar, Ajay Bakkarwala, Prince, Bhupendra, Mohit, Gulab, Manjeet, Rohit Karor and Vijender alias Binder. Police said that Bhupendra, Mohit, Gulab and Manjeet are active members of the Kala Asauda and Neeraj Bawana gang. However, there are 12 main accused in this case, out of which three are still absconding. The Crime Branch team is continuously raiding to capture Praveen, Pradeep and Vinod Pradhan.

The main accused in this murder case, 38-year-old wrestler Sushil Kumar and his associate Ajay Bakkarwala were arrested by a team of Special Cell of Delhi Police from Mundka area of Delhi on 23 May. After the arrest, Sushil was sent by the Delhi court to a six-day police remand. Significantly, on May 4, there was a fight between two groups of Pahlawans over the evacuation of a flat, after which the wrestler Sagar Rana was killed.
