Yash Chopra was a very progressive director: Madhuri Dixit
Bollywood dancing diva Madhuri Dixit Nene admits that the late filmmaker Yash Chopra was a very progressive filmmaker and always kept pace with the times. Madhuri recently expressed her opinion while interacting with her fans, where her fan club created the hashtag Madness Award. These are prizes made using matchboxes and presented as souvenirs. The categories of the awards are decided based on the votes of the fans.
During the conversation, Chopra’s ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ was declared the award for Best Film, Best Music and Best Director.
Madhuri said Yashji was a very progressive director and he always kept pace with the times. Many of his films like ‘Wala’, ‘Daag’, ‘Kala Patthar’ are very progressive.
She further said that when I got a chance to work with him, I listened to the script and fell in love with him. The film was about love and how a girl believes that she will meet her soul, which I think happened to me when I met Sriram Nene.
Madhuri said that Yash Chopra was ‘very professional’ as a producer and director.
She said what I liked the most about him was that he left the artists free to do their work.
