NHPC Limited signs e-mobility agreements with CESL

In a significant step towards environmental protection, India’s premier hydropower company NHPC Limited of the Ministry of Power has partnered with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), to lease 25 electric vehicles. and has signed an e-mobility agreement for supply of 3 electric vehicle fast chargers to NHPC including installation and commissioning. NHPC will have the largest fleet of Electric Vehicles amongst the Public Sector Enterprises in India. NHPC had earlier leased 2 electric vehicles through EESL in 2019.

The e-mobility agreement was signed yesterday through video conferencing. On this occasion CVO of NHPC A. K. Srivastava, and MD & CEO Sumahua Acharya and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) Executive Vice President Saurabh Kumar were present. NHPC has signed the e-mobility agreement as a step towards its resolve towards environment and on the eve of celebrating World Environment Day 2021.

A comprehensive MoU is also under process between NHPC and EESL to explore opportunities for energy efficiency and conservation measures in NHPC.
