According to the latest report by Brand Finance on Indian Brands, telecom and digital communication major Reliance Jio is India’s strongest brand.
According to Brand Finance, Jio is also the strongest telecom brand in the world.
The report said that despite being established only in 2016, Jio has rapidly become the largest mobile network operator in India and the third largest mobile network operator in the world with nearly 400 million subscribers.
With affordable plans, the company offered free 4G to millions of users in India while simultaneously changing the way Indians consume the Internet – known as the Jio Effect.
As brand strength is one of the key drivers of brand value, this year Jio is among the top 10 most valuable brands in India for the first time.
Savio D’Souza, Valuation Director, Brand Finance, said, “The dominance of the Jio brand across the country is evident from the results of Brand Finance’s core market research. Jio scores highest in all metrics as compared to its telecom competitors in India.
Apart from Jio, the five strongest brands include Taj, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC Bank and Britannia.
In addition, the Tata Group has retained the title of India’s Most Valuable Brand with a brand value of $21.3 billion.
