Airtel and Tata Group partner for Made in India 5G

Communications solutions provider Bharti Airtel and Tata Group have announced a strategic partnership to implement 5G network solutions for India. The companies said the Tata Group has developed state-of-the-art O-RAN based radios and NSA/SA cores. Fully leveraging an indigenous technology, leveraging the capabilities of the Tata Group and its partners

Telecom has been integrated. It will be available for commercial development from January 2022.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a Tata group company, has global systems integration expertise and helps in end-to-end solutions for both 3GPP and ORAN standards.
Airtel will deploy this indigenous solution as a pilot project as part of its 5G rollout plans and will start the project in January 2022 as per the guidelines prepared by the Government of India.

These Made in India 5G products and solutions are compliant with global standards, and inter-operate with standard open interfaces and other products as defined by the O-RAN Alliance. The 5G solution will open up export opportunities for India, which is now the world’s second largest telecom market.
