Rijiju Launches Official Theme Song of Indian Olympic Team for Tokyo 2020

Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju launched the official theme song of the Indian Olympic team of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on the occasion of Olympic Day in New Delhi. Ravi Mittal, Secretary, Ministry of Sports, Government of India, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Narendra Dhruv Batra and Secretary General Rajeev Mehta, Sports Authority of India (SAI) Director General Sandeep Pradhan and other officials were also present on the occasion. The song is composed and sung by popular playback singer Mohit Chauhan and lyrics are penned by his wife Prarthana Gehilote.

Inaugurating the theme song, Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “It is the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the entire nation should come together to support and encourage the Indian athletes going to Tokyo Olympics. The launch of the official theme song today is a step in that direction. Composed and sung by Mohit Chauhan, this soulful song captures the spirit of every athlete’s dream of bringing glory to the biggest podium (Olympics) for the country. The Sports Ministry has launched a nationwide ‘YourForIndia’ campaign through various activities such as quiz, selfie point, debate and discussion on Olympics. I urge every Indian to come forward and join this movement to encourage the top sportspersons of the country who are ready to give their best to make India proud.
Dr. Narendra Dhruv Batra, President, IOA said, With the launch of the theme song, I want all our players to know that this is not just an inspirational song but an echo of 1.4 billion prayers behind you and I am sure that You will give your best and make our country proud.
Offering vote of thanks at the function, IOA Secretary General Rajeev Mehta said, The theme song is very inspiring and I hope it will generate a lot of enthusiasm and energy for the athletes to perform well in the sports. On behalf of the IOA, I thank Mohit Chauhan for composing this wonderful theme song for the Indian team that is set to represent the country at the Tokyo Olympics. Athletes from 15 sports have qualified for the Olympics so far and I am looking forward to increasing that number. In terms of medal tally, we are expecting a good number.

Mehta also announced IOA’s partnership with former Indian badminton player and Chief National Coach of the Indian badminton team Pullela Gopichand and Jhyanj Sports to provide wearable meditation devices to all players and every member of the Indian contingent in Tokyo. of. This will help players to keep their mind fit and happy while being secluded at the Olympic Village in Tokyo.
