An effigy of the state government was also burnt at Pahari Gali Chowk. On the call of Pradesh Congress Committee President Pritam Singh, Congress workers gathered in the main market on Sunday morning under a pre-determined program. The workers took out a protest rally from Tilak Bhawan to Pahari Gali Chowk under the leadership of District President Sanjay Kishore. The workers reached Pahari Gali Chowk, shouting slogans with an effigy of the state government in their hands. Here the workers demonstrated against the Kumbh investigation scam. Along with this, the effigy of the state government was also set on fire. District President Sanjay Kishore Mahendru said that the BJP government is surrounded by corruption and scams. Alleged that every representative of this government has become corrupt. The situation is so pathetic that due to their corruption, they have threatened the lives of people not only in Uttarakhand but in front of the whole country like Karona in this period. He said that strict action should be taken against the representatives of the government and all the employees and agencies involved in it. He demanded the strictest action against the culprits by conducting a high-level inquiry into the Kumbh probe scam.
