Uttarakhand : Land reforms in Uttarakhand should be done on the lines of southern states – Harish Rawat

Former Chief Minister and Congress General Secretary Harish Rawat said that the system of southern states should be studied for land reforms in Uttarakhand. There is a need to implement the land law of Devraj Ars government on a large scale in Karnataka. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat said in his post on internet media that youth are participating in the discussion regarding land law in the state. His government had made a new land law in 2016 for consolidation of cultivation in mountainous areas. By the time the law was implemented, the elections came. He said that his government had given priority to land reforms. People were in possession of large scale land in Uttarakhand. Decided to give them ownership rights. There were many types of land types in the Terai, they were eliminated and the lands were regularized. He said that the number of people who understand the land law in Uttarakhand is decreasing. The number of such advocates is decreasing, who have an understanding of the revenue law of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Garhwal and Kumaon. The more concrete steps are taken in this direction, the better it will be for the future.

Naithani also targeted: Former Education Minister and senior Congress leader Minister Prasad Naithani attacked the BJP government regarding the Land Ordinance Amendment Act implemented in the state in 2019. He said that the land ordinance of the central government is being opposed in various states including Asom, Andaman and Nicobar, Arunachal, Orissa and Karnataka. He said that the situation has become alarming due to the Land Act implemented in Uttarakhand. There is anger among the local people.
