Bopanna and Sania lost in a tough fight
India’s Rohan Bopanna and Sania Mirza crashed out in the third round of the mixed doubles at the third Grand Slam Wimbledon Tennis Championships of the year, ending their Indian challenge in the tournament.
Bopanna and Sania were beaten 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 by 14th seeded pair of Holland’s Jean-Julian Roger and Slovenia’s Andreja Klepek in the third round. The match started yesterday and the winning pair won the first set yesterday but after the match started today, the Indian pair won the second set to level the match 1-1. The match was coffee tight in the deciding Super Tie Break but the winning pair managed to win it 11-9. He won the match in two hours and seven minutes.
