Uttar Pradesh : Governor participated in baby shower and Annaprasan programs in Varanasi

Build a Malnutrition and Tuberculosis free society- Anandiben Patel


Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel today visited Gangapur Anganwadi Center of Pindra development block in Varanasi district and participated in baby shower and Annaprasan programs organized there. On this occasion, the Governor interacted with the children of the Anganwadi Center, presented them with reading and sports materials and fruits and sweets, while giving fruits, sweets and grains to Meera Devi, Geeta Devi and Manisha Devi had a baby shower. The Governor said that the government provides an amount of Rs. 5 thousand for nutritious diet of pregnant women, it should be utilized properly. He told the Anganwadi workers that only when the mother is malnutrition free, healthy and malnutrition free children will be born. Therefore, pay special attention to nutritious food and hygiene. He said that it is the duty of all of us that if someone is malnourished or TB. If a child with disease is seen, take the moral responsibility of taking care of him. Inform the family members of the children about proper care and measures to prevent malnutrition and also take care of them themselves and provide nutritional material, only then we will be able to build a malnutrition and tuberculosis free society. He appealed to the public to celebrate their children’s birthdays or their marriage anniversaries at Anganwadi centers, by doing this the enthusiasm of the children of Anganwadi centers will increase and they will also be instilled confidence.
The Governor performed Annaprasan with his own hands by feeding kheer to children like Kartikeya and Baby etc. and also gave fruits and sweets. On this occasion, the Governor also planted a sapling of a banyan tree in the courtyard of the Panchayat Bhawan. Additional Chief Secretary to Governor Shri Mahesh Kumar Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Uttar Pradesh Abdul Kalam Technical University, Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Chief Development Officer Madhusudan Hulgi and other officials were present in the program.
