Sri Lanka announced squad for limited overs series against India
Sri Lanka has announced its 25-man squad for the limited overs series against India starting on July 18. Dasun Shanaka will lead the team, while Dhananjay da Silva has been named as the vice-captain.
Uncapped Lahiru Udara, Shiran Fernando and Ishaan Jayaratne have also been included in the squad. Veteran wicket-keeper batsman Kushal Perera has been ruled out of the entire white-ball series due to a shoulder injury, while Binura Fernando, who is recovering from a knee injury, has been ruled out of the ODI series, though he will join the team in the T20I series.
It is noteworthy that after Sri Lanka’s tour of England, the India-Sri Lanka series was postponed for a few days after cases of corona infection surfaced in its camp. Originally starting on July 13, the series will now start on July 18. After three ODIs, the first T20 match will be played on July 25. All matches of the series will be held in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.
