A total of 2952 railway employees died due to corona infection

The Ministry of Railways said today that 2952 railway employees have died due to corona virus infection so far, while 98 of the dead had received the dose of corona vaccine.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information to the Rajya Sabha in a written reply to a question. He said that after RTPCR test, infection with corona virus was confirmed in 1,57,496 cases. Out of them 2952 employees have died due to COVID-19 disease. He said that as per the available records, 98 out of 2952 deceased railway employees had taken the dose of corona vaccine. Vaishnav said that Indian Railways has a serious attitude towards its employees. Out of total 2952 cases of death due to covid disease, dues have been paid to the families of railway employees in 2857 cases and compassionate appointments have been given in 1931 cases.
