Mahi Raghav in the final of 4th Junior Girls National Boxing Championship

Two-time Khelo India Youth Games champion Mahi Raghav defeated Nikita of Rajasthan to enter the final of the 63kg weight category in the 4th Junior Girls National Boxing Championship held at Delhi Public School (DPS), Sonepat.
Mahi, who had won two successive gold medals back to back at the Khelo India Youth Games in 2019 and 2020, however, had to work hard to clinch the victory as Nikita gave her a tough fight. Ultimately Mahi managed to win the semi-final match 3-2. Mahi will now take on Arshdeep Kaur of Punjab in the gold medal match on Saturday. Arshdeep defeated Andhra Pradesh’s Dipika Sundi 5-0 in the semi-finals to win the final.
The boxers of Haryana have once again performed brilliantly to make it to the finals of each weight category. The special thing was that the boxers of Haryana did not lose a single match on the fifth day of the event. Muskan (46kg), Vishu Rathi (48kg), Neha (50kg), Tanu (52kg), Arzoo (54kg), Aanchal Saini (57kg), Kanishka Mann (60kg), Sneha (66kg) , Rudrika (70kg), Pranjal Yadav (75kg), Sanjana (80kg), Kirti (+81kg) are the other boxers to reach the finals in their respective categories. The final matches will be held on Saturday.
Meanwhile, nine boxers from the Service Sports Control Board (SSCB) made it to the final in the semi-finals of the third Junior Boys National Boxing Championship. Boxers who reached the final are Harsh (46kg), Neeru (48kg), Nikhil (52kg), Ashish (54kg), Preet Malik (63kg), Ankush Panghal (66kg), Jackson Singh Laishram (70kg). ), Naksh Beniwal (75kg) and Rhythm Sangwan (+80kg).
For Haryana, Anshul (57kg), Yashvardhan Singh (60kg), Gagandeep (66kg), Gaurav Saini (70kg), Ishaan Kataria (75kg) and Bharat Najun (+80kg) won gold in their respective categories.

Around 500 boxers (298 boys and 201 girls) participated in the third edition of Junior Boys Championship and the fourth edition of Junior Girls National Boxing Championship. The best performing boxers in these two events will be selected for the 2021 ASBC Youth and Junior Boxing Championships to be held in Dubai from August 17 to 31.
