Hurricane Lupit made landfall in western Japan

Hurricane Lupit made landfall in western Japan on Monday morning with strong winds and heavy rain. Hurricane Lupit made landfall in the southwestern Kyushu region of Japan last night.
According to Japan’s Meteorological Agency, this year’s ninth storm, Lupit, can reach the Sea of Japan via Kure in Hiroshima province today. Due to the effect of the storm, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in areas of western, eastern and northern Japan on Tuesday as well.
People have been advised to be alert about landslides and floods during this period. People have also been alerted in parts of Hiroshima, Shimane, Ehime and Oita provinces. Meanwhile, water levels in some rivers in Hiroshima and Yamaguchi prefectures have risen above dangerous levels.
