New Zealand Football looking to remove its nickname ‘All Whites’

New Zealand Football is considering removing the ‘All Whites’ nickname from its national men’s football team because of its racial connotation.

New Zealand Football has yet to confirm the removal but said it is taking a number of measures to promote cultural inclusivity. According to reports, the national federation has sought suggestions from stakeholders for possible changes.

The nickname ‘All Whites’ was first associated with New Zealand football at the 1982 World Cup. Then the team came down wearing a completely white outfit. Earlier the team used to wear black shorts, white shirt and white socks.
