Tata Motors and Wrestling Federation of India strengthen their partnership

Automobile maker Tata Motors and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) have further strengthened their long-standing partnership by announcing the Chest for Gold at Paris Olympics 2014. It is a holistic development program whose sole goal is to win a gold medal in the next Olympics. Under this initiative, WFI in association with Tata Motors will focus on the growth and development of female and male wrestlers of different age groups. These wrestlers will be provided with the right infrastructure, platforms, opportunities and security. It will be ensured to provide access to world class training facilities to young and talented Indian wrestlers, ‘warriors’.
They will get coaching facilities from internationally reputed coaches. And they will be supported by a program of best nutrition. Also under this initiative, central contracts will be offered to eligible senior wrestlers. Along with this, budding young wrestlers will also be helped through virtual scholarships. Along with this, they will also be given insurance cover, medical and physiotherapy facilities.
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Member of Parliament and President of Wrestling Foundation of India, while launching the Chest for Gold at Paris Olympics 2014 program said, “Since 2018 with the dedicated support of Tata Motors, Indian wrestling has scaled new heights. In the last 3 years, our warriors have won 40-50 medals in international competitions. Wrestling players have won 5 medals in the Senior World Wrestling Championship. This is the highest number of medals won by India in wrestling so far. Wrestlers won a record 11 medals in the recently concluded Junior World Championships. Indian wrestling team got 2 medals in the recently held Tokyo Olympic Games. The Cadet Wrestling team has also won its first title of the World Championship. The joint quest launched by us today will enable us to fulfill the long-standing desire of the entire nation to win a gold medal in wrestling at the next Olympics in Paris in 2024. Tata Motors has honored every member of the successful Indian team that participated in the Tokyo Olympics with its tough and rugged Tata Pickup.
