Teachers’ Day 2021: President Ram Nath Kovind will honor 44 meritorious teachers today

President Ram Nath Kovind will honor 44 meritorious teachers of the country in a virtual program on the special occasion of Teacher’s Day today. The list of meritorious teachers was released this week by RC Meena, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education. Due to the Corona epidemic, this year also this festival is being celebrated in a virtual way. The program will start at 10.30 am and will last for one hour.

RC Meena, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education said that 44 teachers who have done remarkable work in the field of education will be honored with the President Ram Nath Kovind National Teacher Award today. All these teachers have been selected by the jury. Meena said, I would like to state that the selection for the National Teacher Award starts at the district level, and then it happens at the state level. Finally, meritorious teachers are selected at the national level and all the selected teachers are honored on Teacher’s Day.

Last year, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, President Ram Nath Kovind honored 47 teachers. It is noteworthy that the National Awards for Teachers were started from the year 1958. For the National Teacher Award, it is mandatory for the applicant to give information about the remarkable work done for social work, NSS, NCC, culture and society in addition to academic.

From today, Shikshak Parv-2021 will also be started by the Ministry of Education. This program will be conducted online and will continue till September 17. Let us tell you that the birthday of former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (September 5) is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in India. In India, since 1962, the special occasion of the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan is celebrated as Teacher’s Day.
