Rameez Raja said on ECB’s decision, we are feeling cheated
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) President Rameez Raja has criticized the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) decision to cancel the England men’s and women’s cricket team’s tour of Pakistan next month, saying the board is feeling cheated. . He said that this is the excuse of the ECB.
Rameez said, “Very disappointed with England for going back on the commitment of a member of their cricket fraternity. Inshallah we will remain. This is a sign for the Pakistan team to become the best team in the world. If this happens, other teams will stand in lines to play Pakistan without any excuse.
Rameez criticized the decision of the ECB, stressing the important role played by Pakistan in the last two English summer cricket seasons. He said that the Pakistan team played three Tests and three T20s in England in strict bio-bubble (bio-secure) conditions during the initial phase of the corona epidemic last season, which helped the ECB avoid huge financial losses. Rameez said, all the sacrifices we made last season to help England during the Corona situation were in vain, so we have learned a lesson. This is very disappointing. The time has come for England to come forward to help us, as our small cricket fraternity does the same. The ECB’s decision could have far-reaching implications and other teams could follow suit.
It is noteworthy that the ECB on Monday canceled the England men’s and women’s cricket team’s tour of Pakistan next month, citing priority to the physical and mental well being of its players and support staff. Reports, however, also said that the ECB was also given the same security briefing over the weekend as New Zealand Cricket was given last week.
