Lakhimpur case reached Supreme Court
Demand for FIR on ministers regarding violence, also pleaded for CBI investigation
Finally, the matter of violence that took place in Lakhimpur Kheri in UP on October 3 reached the Supreme Court. Two lawyers have filed a petition in the apex court seeking FIR against the ministers and their punishment. In the petition, the court has been urged to direct the Ministry of Home Affairs and the police to register a case against the ministers.
The petition has demanded that a high-level judicial inquiry should be conducted into the violence and nuisance case. The investigation can also be ordered from the CBI in a given time under the supervision of the Supreme Court. The farmers allege that Gurvinder Singh, a farmer of Nanpara Bahraich, died due to bullet injury, but the post-mortem report does not even mention bullet injury. The farmers allege that in order to save Ashish Mishra, the son of the Union Minister of State for Home, the post-mortem report has been covered up.
